During this 2 week learning period we will be looking at the story Ruby Nettleship and the Ice Lolly Adventure by Thomas and Helen Docherty.

Below are some links and examples to help you complete some of the activities from our Learning Maps.

Create a picture using a growing lolly stick. 

Use the blue link to help. What will grow out of your lolly stick?



 Design and make a model playground using card or paper.

 Can you get a toy to sit on a swing or slide down the slide? 



 Make a miniature garden. 

 Take a walk and find different objects you find to help it.

 Which are natural materials? Did you use any man made materials?



Why not try make a model ice cream van using junk.     


 Why not plan and go on a picnic in the park.


 What food will you make to take?  Who will you invite? Could you make invitations?

 Remember your social distancing!


Could you make different flavoured ice lollies? Which fruits would you like to use?


Can you make paper ice lollies? Could you use them to make some summer bunting?

Phonics lessons for Year 1 take place on this website at 10.30 am every week day. If you feel  your child needs more support with the process of blending sounds together, there are lessons at 11 o'clock to practice sounding and reading words such as ‘tap’ ‘cap’ ‘mat’ ‘pat’.

Year 1 CanDoMaths Daily Workout                                                           

A parent Pack of Year 1 Maths based on learning that has taken place during the academic year so far. Practice the skills and apply them to solve missing number and contextual problems to keep Maths fit during the time of school closures.
