This story can be found here.
Below are resources to help you complete some of the activities from the Learning Map. Please do not feel that you must print these. They can be copied out or used as a starting point.
Get creative with some night time art work.
Who is this? What do you think of their art work?
Can you recreate it?
Make a wishing tree full of your hopes and dreams for the future! You can even make a tree using twigs.
Look up at the night sky - what can you see? Below are some apps you can use to help find constellations and images taken from space!
You could design, make and evaluate your own rocket out of 'junk' recycling material.
Reading and Writing
Here are some of the books written by Oliver Jeffers. Have you read any of them before? Can you use the Making Links Between Books template to highlight similarities between them?
You can search for them being read aloud on youtube.
3...2...1...Blast Off! Can you build a junk model space ship and role play a mission to catch a star? What will you need to take with you on your mission? How will you keep in contact with Earth?
Can you retell the story through shadow puppets? Use the link below for some templates from the story.
Create a poster to show how you add suffixes '-er' and 'est' to a root word. Explain what you notice about the spellings. Can you use this spelling pattern correctly in your writing activities?
