Meet the Team

Eastrop Nursery has a highly qualified and experienced staff team. All staff have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and have up to date safe-guarding training. The team is dedicated, hard working and has a wealth of experience in childcare and education: from newly qualified staff to those who have spent many years working in a range of settings.

Lucy Mitchell

Nursery Manager

Designated Safe-guarding Lead in Nursery

I have worked in Early Years School settings for over 20 years. I am a qualified teacher, with a Bachelors of Education Degree. I also hold a Level 3 in Safeguarding and a Paediatric First Aid certificate. I have a real passion for Early Years and I love watching the children grow in confidence throughout the Foundation Stage. Outdoor learning is very important to me and we are often found outside rain or shine, having fun and exploring.

In my spare time I love being with my daughter and husband, going for walks, travelling and cooking food from around the world.

Helen Galt

Deputy Nursery Manager

I have recently completed the first year of the Foundation Degree in Early Years, I also have a level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce and the NNEB Diploma in Childhood Development. I have extensive experience of working with children, which is something I thoroughly enjoy, especially creative play (where you will find me with my sleeves rolled up and getting messy with the children!)

I am really excited to be joining the team and starting my new role at Eastrop and I look forward to meeting and working with you and your family.

Hana Sheikh

Early Years Educator L3

I began studying Childcare at New College where I first developed a good understanding and interest for the Early Years.  I then continued  to further my depth of understanding and knowledge at Bangor University in North Wales over the course of three years.

One of the reasons I enjoy Early Years is celebrating children's achievements. Knowing that learning experiences can support children to cope with challenging experiences and help shape their future.

When I am not looking after my nieces and nephews I enjoy listening to a variety of music, being active, walking my dog and going to fitness classes.
