Continuous Provision and Outdoor Learning

This year, Year 1 will be learning through continuous provision and outdoor experiences. This is a broad term that includes discovery, experimentation, learning about connecting to the natural world, and engaging with child led learning opportunities.

We have 'Over To You' Time where the children get to further their learning through child-led challenges. Each child has a special independent learning book for all their 'Magic Moments' captured in their 'Over To You' time. These are celebrated as they happen and shared with their class.

Spelling Shed - In Year 1 we use Spelling Shed which is a progressive spelling scheme based upon objectives from the National Curriculum.
